About Universal Matter

Graphene is the strongest known material by weight; it is stronger than steel yet can be stretched up to 25% of its original size. Based on work by Rice University investigators, Universal Matter is pioneering the conversion of carbon-based materials, such as coal, petroleum coke, biochar, and even mixed plastic waste into graphene through a highly efficient flash Joule heating process. The Universal Matter manufacturing process produces almost no waste, has a low carbon footprint, and yields graphene. The company sells ready-to-use formulations for numerous commercial applications, including concrete, asphalt, rubber, plastics, paints, coatings and other applications.
