Nanotubes may give the world better batteries
The lab of James Tour, the T.T. and W.F. Chao Chair in Chemistry and a professor of computer science and of materials science and nanoengineering, has shown that thin nanotube films effectively stop dendrites that grow naturally from unprotected lithium metal anodes in batteries. Tour is quoted, and postdoctoral researcher Rodrigo Salvatierra and graduate student Gladys Lopez-Silva are mentioned.
